with on-going practical and theoretical assessment.
The HABC Level 3 Award in First Aid Response is designed to support learners in gaining a more comprehensive
understanding of first aid along with an understanding of how important medical/environmental intelligence is
when dealing with a range of casualties.
It is recommended that the qualification is delivered over a period of 4 days
with on-going practical and theoretical assessment.
The qualification is internally assessed by both on-course assessment
theory and practical assessment along with some distance study/
assessment that investigates the area of medical intelligence and
environmental awareness.
The qualification is valid for a period of 3 years, after which point
learners will need to retake the course. In addition to this it is also
recommended that learners refresh their knowledge annually.
Learners completing this qualification could specialise further in the
area of first aid with on-going development in the following area:
• HABC Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (QCF)
• HABC Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (QCF).
